Entertainment can also have a serious purpose, such as a ceremony, celebration, religious festival, or satire. It may seem implausible that anything involving backstabbing, murders or other dramatic themes could be considered entertainment but these are the types of things the human brain was evolved to react deeply to in order to function in social societies.
