Entertaiment is a collection of art, music, literature and other forms of expression that aim to entertain. It can be cathartic, as in the case of a play or musical performance that evokes strong emotions like fear or anger; it can soothe, as with a comedy show; or it can keep the mind sharp, such as with puzzles or strategy video games. The experience of entertainment varies from person to person, and even within the same individual at different times: a child may prefer cartoons or playgrounds while an adult enjoys a jazz concert or documentary.
